Don't Lose Your Head.

the idea as it stands:

a strip chronicling the misadventures of Krang (TMNT) and Herman von Klempt (Hellboy, I really wanted to draw a head in a jar). they soon join up with Jambi (Pee-Wee's Playhouse) and hilarity ensues as they encounter a body-less ensemble featuring the likes of MODOK, Andross (the boss from Starfox) and other video game bosses, enchanted mirrors, floating holograms, famous statues and even a cameo pulled from the pages of ancient myth.

the first attempt at our two main characters:

and a revision, closer to the end product:

Jambi!

i've been playing around with Corel Painter. i'm digging the possibilities. i recolored this old drawing of two ridiculous Marvel villains, M.O.D.O.K. and Arnim Zola. i went a little overboard on the airbrush spatter.

and a touch up of my first page, featuring some text:

Boy's Club.

an excerpt from Matt Furie's 2006 book "Boy's Club", which i haven't stopped laughing at for the last 36 hours:
i thought it was appropriate for the current outbreak. i'm also trying to put together a swine flu playlist. so far i've got some Misfits and Wall of Voodoo's "Mexican Radio". suggestions?
